Dresses and more dresses! Lots of new ideas and lots of old ideas in fresh new styles. The spring 2009 wedding dress collections are fabulous! Let me share some of the keywords that the designers are using to describe 2009 spring wedding dress styles: construction, waves, sophisticated, folds, textures, glamorous, scale, proportions, old hollywood, seductive, necklines, lace, small details, short, blooms, color, lightweight. I think the overall theme of construction and using fabrics to create small details adds another dimension to your wedding photographs. Beadwork and glitter states the obvious but fabric used in unique ways states drama, especially against light.
It’s nice to see short dresses come back – again it’s a flashback to the past with a new twist. It feels very fun and flirty with spring, especially for warmer locations. Check out J.Crew for great styles as well.
Necklines!!! I know some of you can relate to the overworked strapless idea. Yes, I know the sexy feeling of having your neckline bare with strapless but there’s something very elegant about having an incredible neckline and/or sleeves too. Also, a lot of woman don’t realize that while the strapless is popular, it also adds headaches. No matter how skinny someone is, all battle with underarm and back issues. Or gravity! So think twice about your dress and the environment you’ll be in for your wedding day, try on many different styles so you’re educated on the best one.
